You could call this The Craft2.0. So a nod to our heritage is needed and this is it. 

The Craft was born from the thinking of Mark Wiseman-Smith and Nat Sones in equal measure. We worked at The Marketing Practice back in 2008 and then came back together at Marketing Team Direct in 2010. 

For Mark, the key motive was being handed more and more briefs by clients that weren’t generating the right results. Often this was because the sales teams didn’t support the marketing, or the proposition wasn’t thoroughly aligned with specifics of the market and buyer’s needs.  Mark had seen how to answer this before in the energy market at One Brand, so took a risk that the tech market needed these types of answers too. 

So, The Craft Consulting was built to be the place where people could get the right thinking done better upfront and get to market faster. In 2010 it was probably the only business to focus purely on competitive positioning in the B2B tech space. Success and growth followed with a core team of 10 with a turnover of £1.3million a year. 

In 2020, The Craft Consulting was acquired by Agent3, the ABM specialist [part of Next15]. It was a great boost, accelerating growth to 20+ people and around £3.2million turnover a year, it brought the approach into more clients, and larger programmes with the support of the amazing leadership at Agent3.  

In 2023, The Craft brand was retired, but our teams’ growth continued; leading a division of Agent3 operating in EMEA, AMER and APAC, with 90+ people and a turnover of over £9.5million. Our Craft approach was brought into the heart of the business. It was hard but an amazing experience in a changing agency landscape. 

At the start of 2025 Agent3 and Next15 agreed that Mark and a team could leave the business and regain independence to serve a market that once more was right for The Craft.  

So here we are The Craft Strategic Marketing Services – ready, willing and able. This is our opportunity to acknowledge the kindness and support of Agent3 and Next15, as well as a nod and a thank you to all who have influenced, supported and been part of our journey so far, as well as those who will travel with us in the future too!
